Kim and I just returned from a fantastic Santana Adventures Riverboat ride down the Mississippi from Memphis to New Orleans. It was awesome to see Memphis, including a night on Beal Street listening to some great Blues in one of the many clubs as well as the must do visit to Graceland. But more importantly, we were able to be at the National Civil Rights Museum | At the Lorraine Motel on April 4. #OnThisDay in 1968, Dr. King was fatally shot at 6:01 pm on the balcony outside of his room, 306, at the Lorraine Motel. He was rushed to St. Joseph’s hospital and pronounced dead at 7:05 pm. #RememberingMLK #April4th.
Once on the boat with our tandem, we rode every day for eight days with 70 some miles being the longest. Returning to snow and wind does not want to make us get out and ride more, but the next bike trip is coming quickly, Bike and Barge, Amsterdam to Brugge. Happy Training in April and see you in August at the Sadistic Century. Be sure to register in April for $45. Price goes up in May.
