We will be sending this update to all registered riders. The Sadistic Century is a supported bike ride, not a race. Please follow all rules of the road and be very careful on downhills. Some roads have sand and gravel or bad pavement in places. Please call 911 in an emergency and call 715-330-4646 for SAG support.
First, REST STOPS. We have three rest stops that you will pass by twice each (six times). First one is at ~13 & 56 miles where County Roads P & K merge. Second rest stop is at ~30 & 36 & miles after the steep downhill on the Northside of I94. The Third rest stop is on top of Star Hill ~66 & 74 mile mark.
REST STOP stations and sag support will be provided until 4:00 p.m., so please plan your start time and ride accordingly. Please note that the 36 mile aid station will be closing at 12:00 p.m., and the 56 mile aid station will be closing at 3:00 p.m.
Each stop has a portable toilet. Each stop has water and Powerade. Fig Newtons, Salted Nut Rolls, Cookies, Bananas, Hard Boiled Eggs, Pickle Juice and other items will be at each stop.
The Sadistic Century and Menomin Meander rides start and end at the Dunn County Recreation Park in the Fanetti Building. Google Map Link. Registration is open at 6:30 AM and 100 mile/km riders are encouraged to leave 7 AM to 8 AM. The route (60km, 100km, 100 mile) is marked with yellow, painted arrows on the road. At least two arrows before each turn and a confirmation arrow after each turn. You should be able to ride the course without queue sheet or gps. These are available on the website on the course page. Due to construction, we had to remove about a seven mile section of the route. We encourage you to ride our 8.3 mile Menomin Meander loop around the lake (paved, off-street trail for most of loop) to complete your century rides. The Menomin Meander loops starts toward the East out of the Park. The 8.3 mi Menomin Meander is the more relaxed option for families and others not riding the Sadistic Century.
Lunch will be served at the Dunn County Recreation Park in the Fanetti Building from 11:00 AM to 4 PM and includes vegetarian options (Beef and Bean Tacos and Burritos with sides) with options for drinks including local Wisconsin tap beer. Each participant will receive a meal and free beer. Additional meals and beer for family and friends will be available for a free-will donation. Locker Room Showers are available after the ride, but participants must provide their own towels and toiletries.
